CATHERINE OSAWO-ONYANGO

It is with profound sorrow and the humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our dear Catherine Osawo-Onyango, which took place on Saturday, 27 th July 2024.

She was the daughter of John Osawo and the late Julie Okungu of Odeko, Uranga Village, East Gem location of Siaya County, and daughter-in-law of the late Paul Onyango Oweya and the late Elizabeth Auma Onyango of Ufira Village, Rusinga West, Kamasengre West, Rusinga, Homa Bay.

Catherine was a devoted wife of the late Joseph Sambia Onyango and a loving mother of Peter Sindho Onyango and Julie Sambia Onyango.

Cathy was a dear sister of Kevin and Nicholas and a step-sister of Linda, John Jr, Sandra, Rachel and Debbie.

She was a sister-in-law of a large extended family, including Ronald Ngala, Millicent and Risper Ngala, Caleb and Phay Otieno, George Omondi, David Onyango, Jim Obondo, Ben Obondo, Frederick Otieno, Benard Okello, Julius Obonyo, Josephine Atieno, Everline Anyango, Meroline Onyango, Grace Ojuku, Phoebe Awino, Everline Akinyi, Nancy Okado, Lorinta Odira and Pesika Akech.

She was niece of the late Judith Awiti, the late Tom and Alice Nyanjom, the late Arthur and Mary Ochola, the late Cosmas Oloo, Nellie Jaoko, Beatrice Adhiambo (USA), Dr. James O. and Margaret Ger and Rev. Archdeacon Morris Ogolla Ger and Margaret Ogolla.

Cousin of Pamela, Mary, Susan, the late Millicent, Ben Bella, Caleb, Caesar, Michelle, Steven, Yona, Norah, David, Erick, Norah, Joyce, Philgona, Samuel among others. Cathy will be laid to rest on Friday, 16th August 2024, starting at 9.00am at Rusinga West Kamsengre Sub location
