CHARLES MURAYA GATHOGO

8th November, 1956 – 22nd January, 2024

It is with humble acceptance of God will that we announce the demise of Charles Muraya Gathogo on 22 January 2024. lie formerly worked at Laikipia University until his retirement in 2014.

Son to the late Mzee Raphael Gathogo and the late Jacinta Njeri.

Charles was the husband to the late Peris Gathogo. Partner to Florence Maina. He was the father to Jacinta Muraya of Syngenta and Jacqueline Muraya of Cannon General Insurance. Father-in-law to Thurstone Omondi. Grandfather to Adrian Asila,Tyler Okello and Olivia Mwihaki.

Brother to Eddah Kirua, Michael Wamal, Felicity Mumbi, Peter Kariuki, Mary Kagure, Lucy Wambui and the late John Maina.

Son-in-law to the late Mzee Richard lkiro Kanyua  and Felicina Gathigia.

Brother-in-law to Maina,Wanjiku, Mumiru, George, the late Wanjiru, Warnuyu, Njeri, Mumbi, Mwangi, the late Mutahi, Gethi, Macharia and the late Wachira.

Friends and relatives are meeting at his home in Starehe Nyahururu and at their rural home in Gathugu everyday from 5.00pm.

The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday 30th January 2024 at Sacred Heart Gathugu Catholic Church, Kagumoini, Konyu, Mathira, Nyeri County at 11.00 am.Thereafter the cortege will proceed to the final resting place at the family home a few metres from Kagumoini Coffee Factory.

A Fundraiser to offset the Hospital bill and Funeral expenses will be held at St All Saints Cathedral on Saturday 27th January at 2.00pm.
