CLARICE WAMBUI WANJAU (MRS.)

1940 – 2020

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden and sad demise of Clarice Wambui Wanjau which occurred on 6th November, 2020 after a short illness.

Wife of the late John Wanjau Kang’ara. Daughter of the late Mr. Mwiyanga wa Wambua and the late Mrs. Damaris Wathaa Mwiyanga of Kibirigwi, Kirinyaga County. Sister of the late Geoffrey Wamwea Mwiyanga, Julia Wangechi Njogu, Margaret Gachamiu, Nancy Wairimu and Jane Wanjiru. Sister-in-law of the late Githenya, late Njeri, Maina, late Wachera, late Wakini, Mumbi and Wangithi. Loving Mum of Lucy Nyawira Wanjohi (Wamagana), Andrew Gitari (Kamulu), Irene Muthoni Nyori (Gifted Hands-Nbi), Christopher Mwangi (Sagana), Catherine Njeri (Kibingoti), Madrine Wangechi Muriithi (Bolt Speed C&F-Nbi), Jacqueline Wachera (Carnation Island Designers-Nbi) and the late Geoffrey Wamwea.

Mother-in-law of Charles Wanjohi Wahome, Anne Gitari, the late Cyrus Nyori Mbugua and Patrick Muriithi Mbaka. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Rachel Wanjohi, Wahome Wanjohi, Wanjau Wanjohi, Karuku Wanjohi, Ponziano Gitari, Ngatia Gitari, Mbugua Nyori, Wanjau Nyori, Kago Nyori, Christine Wambui, Munene Muriithi, Wanjau Muriithi, Anaya Rose Muriithi, Collins Njoroge, Emmanuel Wanjau, Tiffany Wamwea and Tessy Wamwea; a doting great grandmother of Skylar Wanjugu. Cousin, aunt, mentor and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her home in Sagana and in Nairobi, Homeland Inn, Thika Road for funeral arrangements.

There will be a requiem mass at St. Veronicah Catholic Church Syokimau on Friday, 11th December from 6.00PM to be conducted under strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Thika Road branch on Wednesday 16th December 2020 at 8.00 AM and the funeral service will be held at St. Paul ACK Sagana Parish at 11.00 AM. She will later be laid to rest at Kiamakururu Farm, Thanju, Sagana, Kirinyaga County.
