DR. ANTHONY JUDE OMOLLO WERE

12th September 1956 — 21st November 2020

It is with profound grief and acceptance of God’s will that we, The Were Family announce the death of Dr. A. J. O. Were who passed away on 21st November 2020 at Nairobi Hospital.

He was the beloved son of the Late Councillor Phillip Omollo Owidi and the Late Agnes Aoko Omollo and Stepson to Turphena Aluoch Omollo of Saye Konyango. Son-In-Law to the Late Nickodemus Were Ogunde and Beatrice Asia Ogunde of Kital Karachuonyo. Loving husband to Dorothy Atieno Were (formerly of Safaricom PLC) and Loving father to Dr Nick Were Omollo (of The Nairobi Hospital, Yvonne Aoko Were, Sharon Phillip Akinyi Were and Gayle Trisha Were. In-Law to Rose Kananu Mwarania. Father-in-Law to Sandra Kagwiria Mwarania and Grandfather to Zari Achieng Were.

Brother to Hebel Owidi Omollo, The Late Billy, The Late Henry, Dan, The Late Ken, Dr. Stephen GR Omollo, Tom, Owalla, June, Eunice, Jescah, Karen, Lilly, Loise, Florence, Lydia, Vicky and Maureen

He was the brother-in-law to Joseph, Olivia, Linda, Tom, Stephen, Dennis, Eric and D. Wahutu.

He was the Nephew to the late Mzee Odundo, the late Nyakone, the late Nyangoya, the late Agidho, the late Josiah Were, Margaret, Elsa, Prisca, Elizabeth, the late Helena, Damaris and Zipporah. Cousin to The Odundes, The Nyaqoya’s and the Nyakone’s.

The Memorial service will be held on Monday 30th November 2020 at All Saints Cathedral, 12.00pm – 100pm.

The burial will to place at his home on Wednesday, 2nd December, 2020 at Saye Konyango Village, Kasipul Constituency in Homa Bay County.
