We the Laban Chweya Foundation regret to announce the sudden demise of Dr. Bob Onkoba Chweya of Nyamira County and Referral Hospital after a short illness.

The eldest son of Elder Yabesh Chweya and the late Mama Agnes Kemuma Chweya of Amaiga Village,

Kegati Sub-location, Kisii County. Grandson to the {ate Elder Laban Chweya and the late Mama Hellen Nyamoita Chweya of Nyanturago Sub-location Nyaribari Masaba Constituency and the late Daniel Machooka and the late Mama Asenath Machooka of Mochenwa Sub-location Kitutu Masaba Constituency.

Loving husband to Emma Nyanduko Ombongi (Gusii Mwalimu Sacco). Loving father to Reagan Onkoba Chweya (Ruby Kraft Primary School) and Dylan Okemwa Onkoba (Kaizen School).

Son-in-law of Daniel Ombongi (Mosisa Primary) and Josephine Mogire (Masimba Primary).

Brother to Laban Machooka Chweya (SCLP – Nairobi) and Dr. Ruth Chweya (Kisii University).

Brother-in-law to Brenda, Kevin, Monicah, Peter and Mark.

Nephew to Jonathan Matoke Chweya, the late Richard Mochama Chweya, Alfred Matoya Chweya (Homabay County).

Cousin to Hon. The body lies at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.

Family and friends meeting daily at his home at Amaiga.

The main funds-drive will be on Tuesday 14/11/2023 at Dans Hotel – Kisii as from 2:00pm.

The cortege leaves KTRH Mortuary on Thursday 16/11/2023 at 9.00am for Nyamira County and Referral Hospital for a short service then back to Amaiga home for an overnight stay. The burial ceremony will be held at Riverbank Primary School, Kegati on Friday 17/11/2023 co from 9.00am.
