DR. (COL) SIMON KANYI MBUTHIA

 (1954 – 2022)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the demise of Dr. (Col) Simon Kanyi Mbuthia, which occurred on Sunday 17th July, 2022 after an illness bravely fought. He hailed from Gatunguru in Mathioya Sub-county, Muranga County.

Son of the late Patrick Mbuthia Kiiru and the late Agness Waitherero Mbuthia (Wamuguru).

Beloved husband to EstherWangari Mbuthia. Father to Dr. Eric Mbuthia Kanyi and Dr. Fredrick Chege Mbuthia. Father-in-law to Dr. Jemimah Karingi Chege.

Brother to Stephen Anthony Kiiru Mbuthia, Seraphine Muthoni Mbuthia (Wachuka), the late Leah VVanjiku Mbuthia and lsaack Thuita Mbuthia.

Step-brother to Stephen Kiiru Mbuthia and Sarafina Wachuka Gachuru. Cousin, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.

He was cremated on 20th July, 2022. There will be a memorial service held at the St. Austin’s Chapel (located on the grounds of St. Mary’s School – Lavington), on Wednesday 27th July, 2022 at 11.00am.

`Simon has fought a good fight, he has finished the race and kept the faith.’
