DR. ELIJAH KEM GITHUI (MBARI)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Dr. Elijah Kem Githui (Mbari), a Senior Research Scientist at the National Museums of Kenya, who passed away on 27th September, 2023 after prolonged illness.

Son of the late Naomi Kibung’a and the late Ephantus Kibung’a of Gachuiro village Ichuga Sub-location, Nyeri County. Son in law to Samuel Njau Gocho and the late Monicah Ruguru Njau of Komothai Location, Kiambu County.

Beloved husband to Susan Wanjiru Githui and loving father to David Kem, Samuel Kem, Nathaniel Kem, and Joseph Kem.

Brother to Mercy Wambui,Emily Nyambura and Peter Kihara. He is preceded in death by his brothers Henry Mambo and James Mageria, sisters Jane Wanjiru and Rose Mweru.

Brother-in-law to John Njau, Serah Wambui, Martin Mwangi, the late Samson Njoroge and the late Michael
Macharia, uncle and cousin to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Umoja 1, house no. C60 and at Homeland, Thika Road from the 10th -14th October 2023 from 5.00 pm for burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves The Aga Khan University Hospital Mortuary on the 16th October 2023 at 6:30 am for interment at his farm in Kamuera, Ichuga Location, Karatina.
