DR. FREDRICK AWICH OKANGO

It is with profound shock and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our beloved father and husband Dr. Fredrick Awich Okango (Matibabu Foundation) on 19/8/2020 at Nairobi, Kenya after a long battle with stomach cancer, bravely borne. Daktari Hailed from Kakelo Dudi Sub-location, Kakelo Location, Kasipul Sub County, Homa Bay County.

Son of Mrs. Phoebe Adhiambo Okango and the late Joshua Okango Odindo. Grandson of Mama Helena Omollo Awich and the late Fredrick Awich Oronga of Nyakach Agoro, and the late Mzee Lukio Odindo and Ascar Odindo. Husband of Ms. Lorraine Othieno (Toyota, Kenya). Father of Antoine Wendoh (Braeburn Gitanga Road), Arness Ratego and Andre Muma (Makini School). Son in law of Mama Alice Mary Othieno and the late Mzee Athanas Othieno of Alego Kaugagi. Brother of Carolyne Atieno, the late Francis Okango, Rachel Akinyi, Steven Okango, the late Christine Okango, Hellen Anyango and Andrew Odhiambo.

Brother in law of Duncan Ajewa, Enos Nyawata, James Odongo and Belinda Akinyi, Dr Immaculate Chandy Ogonji (USA), Athanalice Othieno, the late Emmy Othieno, Eng Maurice Othieno (USA), Michael Opiyo, the late Zechariah Dr. Fredrick Avich Odongo, Biski, Chingching, Angela Mumbo (USA). Uncle of Michelle Biko, Josephine, Santana, Joy, the late Lucius, Austine, Gideon, Elijah, Simon, Joshua, Kerry, Felix, Randy, Raylan, Phoebe, Bella, George, Pharell and Phelps. Nephew of Hezekiah Awich, Rose, Walter (USA), Solomon (USA), Grace, Lillian (USA), Elizabeth, Yusto (USA), the late Andrea Odindo, Jeremiah Owande, the late Richard, Robert, Damaris, and Marren. Cousin of Dr. Mary Ochola (Coast General), Joanne (USA), Dr. Efu (USA), Flavia, Dr Juma, Jack (USA), Cpt Webster, Abigail (USA), Dan Ogolla (Matibabu), among many others.

Funeral Service will be held at Lavington SDA Church on 02.09.2020 at 8.00AM. He will be laid to rest on 4/9/2020 at his home in Kakelo Dudi.
