DR. JASON NYARIKI ORWENYO

1937-2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of Dr. Jason Nyariki Orwenyo, formerly of Kenyatta University, on 13th June 2021.

The Late Dr. Orwenyo was the son of the late Yusuf Orwenyo and the late Sibia Nyaigendia and step son of the late Teresia Nyambeki. He was husband of Everlyne Kerubo, and father of Joseph Orwenyo, James Nyabuga and Rachel Nyaigendia.

He was the brother of the late James Nyabuga Orwenyo, the late Dickson Nyanyuki, David Orwenyo, Sospeter Orwenyo, the late Rachel Moraa, John Omao Orwenyo, Rhoda Momanyi, Gichuru, Kepha Mong’are, Gibon, Tom, George, Kaunda and Naomi.

He was cousin of the Nyabutos, Magomas, Ontegis, Nyambakas, Nyabugas, Moengas, Kiriamas and Meroka. He was brother-in-law of Paul Okwomi and Momanyi Bw’Onwonga. He was uncle and grandfather of many.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the Nairobi Central SDA Church (Maxwell) starting at 1.00 pm on 30th June 2021.

The burial will take place at his Mwongori (Maxwell) Scheme, Borabu, Nyamira County, home on 2nd July 2021. All Covid-19 protocols will be strictly observed.
