DR. JOHN MUTHEE KAUNGA

15th June, 1962 – 25th July, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the demise of Dr. John Muthee Kaunga, Senior Lecturer, Dept of Veterinary Services, University of Nairobi, Agriculture Campus, Kabete.

He was the son of the late Joseph Kaunga and Teresina Nkoyai of NchiruVillage, Meru.

Husband to Jane Wairimu Muthee of UoN. Father to Chris Muriuki Muthee, Terry Eunice Wangui Muthee and Gabriel Karithi Muthee.

Brother to the late Peter Kang’ote Kaunga, Karinguri Kaunga, Stephen Mwiti Kaunga, Mary Gituma Kaunga, Flora Linguli Kaunga, Sarah Mwonthea, Naomi Karimi Kaunga, Priscilla Ntongai Kaunga and Marcella Rotich Kaunga.

Brother-in-Law to Mike & Ann Makuro, Joyce Mwea, Nancy Mwea, Eliud & Jane Njoroge; Lucy Kang’ote, Agata Karinguri, Jane Mwiti, Linguli, Boniface, Kinyua, Rotich and Ntongai.

He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, 2nd August 2023 at his home Karebe/Nchiru village, Kunene Sub Location, Nkomo Ward, Tigania West, Meru County. The cortege leaves Chiromo University Mortuary on Tuesday, 1st August 2023 at 10,00am for an overnight rest at Kirua Mission Hospital. The cortege will then leave Kirua Mortuary on Wednesday, 2nd August 2023 at 9.30am for funeral service to be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, Nchiru. The final burial rites will be held thereafter at his home Nchiru Village.

Friends and relatives are meeting at 4.00pm daily, at both his homes at Fortsmith Gardens Estate, Ndumbuini, Lower Kabete, Nairobi and Nchiru Village, Meru.

He fought a good fight and he kept the faith.
