DR. SAMWEL OWINO MWANDA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the demise of Dr. Samwel Owino Mwanda, a Senior Lecturer, Kikuyu Campus, University of Nairobi on Thursday, 19th September  2024.

He was a loving husband of Linet Yogo of DCI Hqrs. Beloved son of the late Josiah Mwanda Amwata and Tabitha Rachuonyo Mwanda of Konuong’a Location, Homa Bay County.

He was a devoted father of Christabel Mwanda, Brian Mwanda, Ashley Mwanda, Daniela Mwanda and Josephine Adika. 

Brother of Doryne and the late Elias Awuondo, Florence and Jackson Siso, the late Beatrice and the late Jack Ndinya, Kennedy and Alice Mwanda, Dr. Gideon and Linda Mwanda, George and Jemima Mwanda and Benta and Nelson Ojijo.

Nephew of late John Amwata and Barrack Amwata. Cousin and Uncle of many.

Son in-law of the late Joseph Obuon Yogo and Mama Christabel Obuon.

Dr Mwanda was also a cherished father in-law of Deogratias Kimwama; Nyawana of John Mohochi and Susan Mohochi of Isibania.

Family, relatives and friends are meeting daily at his rural home and Nyayo Embakasi residence in Nairobi for prayers and funeral arrangements.

A fundraiser will be held at the Old Sanctuary – Nairobi Central SDA Church (NCSDAC) on Wednesday 9th, October 2024 from 5:00 pm.

The memorial service will be held at NCSDA Church on Thursday 10, October 2024 from 10:00 am.

He will be laid to rest on Monday 14, October 2024 at his home in Kachola Village, Karabach Sub-location, Kodera South location, Homa Bay County.
