ELDER SIMON MATUNDA NYAKUNDI

With deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of Elder Simon Matunda Nyakundi, Managing Director of Kingsland Court, on August 8, 2024, at Aga Khan University Hospital.

Simon was the beloved son of the late Stanley Nyakundi Maangi and Callen Nyamoita Nyakundi.

He was a devoted husband of Eveline Nyakerario Nyakundi and a loving father of Sean Stanley Nyakundi.

Dear brother of Margaret Mogaka, Sophia Nyanchama, Jane Nyaboke, Laban Motaroki, Eric Osumo, Edwin Musonga, Violet Nyanchoka, and Victor Agata, and a cherished brother-in-law of Kennedy Mogaka, James Osumo, the late Joram Onsongo, John Wanyama, Noel Kemunto, Rose Kemunto, Immaculate Mwango, Edna, Sarah Moraa, the late Kevin Boylen, Jared Manono, Salome Manono, Stella Kemunto, Dr. James Oduor, Peter Nyamongo, Nancy, Edward Ogino, and Cynthia Ogino.

He was the treasured grandson of the late Maangi and Nyanchoka, and the late James Kerosi and Eunice Mosinya, and a devoted son-in-law of Machaka Nyakundi Auma and Elizabeth Gesare Nyakundi.

Simon was also the beloved nephew of the late Osumo, the late Mokaya, the late Onsomu, the late Lucia, the late Jeremiah, Elizabeth, Bochaberi, Nyamoita, Daniel, and John. Uncle of Naomi, George, Daisy, Cliff, Lameck, Purity, Felix, Jason, Diana, Judith, Immanuel, Stanley, Lewis, Ashley, Avril, Yvette, Princiline, Brittiny, Mosinya, Gilbert, Lindsey, JJ, and Aria, and a cousin of Alfred Okong’o, Masaki, Nyong’a,Teresia, Francis, Lilian, Lucy, Daniel Osumo, Jonnes, Debora, Kennedy, the late Isabella, Linet, Miriam, Festus, Edna, Malach and Hezekiah.

Simon was also a valued colleague and friend to many.

A fundraising event to help defray medical and funeral expenses will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 5:00 PM, at Nairobi Central SDA Church, Old Sanctuary. 

The Funeral Church Service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Nairobi Central SDA Church, starting at 2:00 PM, with an additional Church Service on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Crater SDA Church, Nakuru, starting at 8:30 AM.

The burial will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Kiabiraa Village, Bomabacho, Nyamaiya Ward, Nyamira County.
