ELIZABETH WAMBUI GAKERE

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of our beloved Elizabeth Wambui Gakere of Hemco designs and formerly of UON after a short illness.

She was the wife to Gakere Mwangi of Hemco feeds & Hemco designs. Mother to Mwangi Gakere & Gladys Njeri, Wangari Gakere & Dan Mwangi of Sea gas, Msa and Maina Gakere of Nairobi.

She was daughter to the late Dr. Mwangi Karangu and Isabella Mwangi (Alpharetta, Georgia) and step-daughter of Anna Karangu of Baltimore, Maryland. Daughter-in-Law to the late Mwangi Gakere and the late Hellen Wangari. Sister to James Karangu of Baltimore, Maryland – USA, the late Kimani Karangu, David Karangu (Atlanta, Georgia), Dr. Caroline Waiyaki and Irungu Karangu of Baltimore, Maryland – USA. Grandmother of Liam Mwangi & Gian Gakere.

Meetings are being held daily at their residence between 6pm – 8pm. There will be only one meeting on Friday (25/06/21) at the All Saints Cathedral between 6pm – 8pm.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday (27/06/21) at ACK St. Joseph of Arimathea Church (Thome – behind Safari Park Hotel) at 3pm.

The Cortege leaves KU Referral Hospital Mortuary at 6.30am on Tuesday 29/06121. The funeral will take place in Nyahururu, NyumbaTatu, Shamanei near Laikipia campus.
