ERICA WARURII GAKUNJU

With profound shock and peace of God, we are coming to terms with the sudden passing of our beloved Erica Warurii Gakunju. She was part of the December 2020 Graduating Class of the Strathmore University —Law Faculty.

Cherished and beloved daughter of Gakunju Kimemia (Lyngony, Laikipia) and Wahu Gakunju (Mems Café). Adorable sister to Kimemia Gakunju (Mems), Jason Gakunju of Nova Pioneer School, Alice Njeri (Gaceri) and Rodney Waiti. A dear grandchild of the late Zack Gakunju and late Mary Warurii, late John Kiarie and Jane Nduta (Nyina wa Kirega) of Kanunga. A bubbly niece to Ruth Gakunju (Lalananasi Lodge), Njeri and David Parseen (Nakuru), Paul and Angela Gatuku, Grace and Andrew Kimwaki, Kirega and Irene Kiarii, Margaret and Isaac Wanjero, Winnie Kiarii, Nancy and Michael Wachira. An amazing cousin to Wacuka and John Mutua, Wairimu and Edu Mumu, Kamau Mwai,Wambui, Ngugi and Nduta Kimwaki, Kiarie, Kagunda, Kanari Kirega, Michael, Chris, Rodney Wanjero, Imani Nduta Waithira, Sean and Ethan Wachira amongst many others. Grand Tata to Katheke, Shiku, Mueni, Shi & Shi,Waruinge, Johari, Davie,Wairimu, Jamie, Kimwaki, Ngando and AJ Musyoka.Warurii was a trusted friend, mentor and role model for many youth and youngsters alike.

Friends and family are meeting daily at her parents’ residence for prayers and funeral arrangements.

There will be a Special Service to celebrate her life on Sunday 1st November, 2020 starting 3 p.m.
