ESTHER WANGARI MUNDIA

23rd August, 1951 –  7th January, 2024

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Esther Wangari Mundia, following a long illness bravely borne. Esther was an educator, a farmer, a mentor and a philanthropist.

Wife of the late Charles Ndung’u Mundia. Mother to Christine Wanjiru, Robert Mundia & Haika Msaky Mundia, William Wathuta and the late Victor Theuri. Also a mother to Lucy Mbugua and Kelly Mungala. Parent-in-law to Mr and Mrs Fred Msaky.

Sister to the late Rose Warnbui, Prof. Euty Wathuta, Francis Muteru, Ndiuini Wanjohi, Lucy Nyakinywa, the late Humprey Githogori, the late Milton Ngatia, the late Douglas Mario, the late Samuel Kariuki, the late Allan Ngugi and the late Susan Wanjiru.

Sister-in-law to Wilson Theuri, Hannah Wanjugu, Regina Muthoni and Mary Nyokabi.

Grandmother to Barbara Wangari, Trevor Noel, Miguel, Michelle, Anisa, Kasha and Simone. Great-grandmother to Jermaine. She was an aunt and friend to many.

There will be a fundraising on Tuesday, 23rd January, 2024, at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi at CTC Toddlers Room, from 5:00 pm. Contributions to be sent to Paybill: 4113552, Account: Your Name.

The funeral service and burial will be on Thursday, the 25th January, 2024, from 11.00am at Lang’ata Cemetery, Nairobi.
