GACHANJA KIAI

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce that Gachanja Kiai passed on, on 4th September 2020. He was a lecturer at Kenyatta University, in the Literature Department for over 30 years.

Dear son of the late Bethuel Kiai Gachanja and Assumpta Wakonyo Kiai. Beloved husband of Dr. Patricia Wasike of the University of Nairobi, Vet labs Kabete, and loving father of Wakonyo Ayeko, Nawekulo Wanjugu, Kiai Lusweti and Wambui Ssamanya. Treasured brother of Grace Wanjugu Kiai, Wambui Kiai, Maina and Cheryl Kiai, Njeri Kiai, the late Gakiria Waweru and Steve Theuri, Nduta Kiai and Vladimiro, Ngure and Gina Kiai, and Mugambi and Liah Kiai.

Son-in-law of the late Andrew Wasike Lusweti Khaemba and Leonora Saiti Wasike. He was also a brother-in-law of the late Rosemary and late Ignacio Buca, Inviolate and Diphas Siboe, Jane and Maurice Siminyu, Roselynn Wasike, Jaki and Ben Sihanya, Late Carmelite and Jack Opiate, Electing and Tim Wanyonyi and Mercy Wasike. Uncle, “grandfather” and friend of many.
