GARD AWINO OBUYA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing of our treasured son, father, brother, cousin, uncle and friend, Gard Awino Obuya which occurred on 9th January 2025.

Gard was the beloved son of the late Japheth Obuya Ogut and the late Paskaliah Okuku Obuya of Wikondiek, Kanyaluo, Karachuonyo. 

He was the loving husband of Anab Mohamoud and Martha Agutu.

He was a devoted father of Winslow, Akulloh, Shadya, Shamim, Adnan, Jeff, the late Amelia, Gad, and Judy.

He was a cherished brother of Zilpah Abila, the late Enos Ochola Ogollah, Richard Onguru, Damaris Ouma, the late Penina Kasera, the late Elizabeth Omundo, Susan Orao, and Rose Orao. His cousins include Moses, Gladys, Esther, Jacob, Margaret, Silas Nyambok, John, the late John Nyambok, Ogutu, Nereah, Damar, Gor and Margaret Othuro.

He was the son-in-law of the late Mr. Mohamoud Osman and Hadija Hassan, and the late Christopher Agutu and Judy Agutu. Uncle of Lily, Joan, the late Dan, Solomon, Florence, Caro, the late Tom, Judy, Brenda, Allan, Mercy, the late Jim, Atieno, Sussy, Anna, Nyawira, Jeff, Omondi, Mildred, Mollent, Merlin, Pius, Margaret, Monicah, Archie, Celes, Beryl, Betty, Eleanor, Jeff, Joseph, Silas, Philip, Michael, Fred, Candy, Mickey, Valary, Ian, Christopher and Christine.

Gard was a brother-in-law of Amina, Abdul, Razak, Chawahir, Elias, Haweye, Maimuna, Haji, Halima, Nunu, Irene, Job, Albert, the late Dr. Abila, late Hellen, Lucia, late William, late Kasera, Omundo, Remmy, late Tony amongst others.

A prayer service will be held at the Chiromo Funeral Parlour Chapel in Nairobi on Thursday, 23rd January 2025 at 7:30 am.

The cortege will thereafter depart Nairobi for Karachuonyo Kanyaluo, on Thursday, 23rd January 2025 for an overnight vigil at the homestead.

A funeral service and burial will be held from 9:00 am on Friday 24th January 2025 at Wikondiek, Kanyaluo, Karachuonyo.
