GEORGE ODONGO ALANDO

Born: 27th March, 1940 — Rested: 22nd April, 2021

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of George Odongo Alando of Ukaya village in Gem Maliera on 22nd April 2021 after a long illness bravely borne.

Son of the late John Robert Alando & the late Mania Alfreda Alando of Gem Maliera_ Devoted husband of the late Gladys Odongo & Catherine Odongo. Loving father of Jacqueline, Edgar, Gloria, Samson, Carol, Maureen, the late Fidel, Linda, Edmond, Patricia, Joseph, Maria, Esther, Marion. Predeceased by his cherished siblings Monica Adeya, Omoro Alando, Anne Okatch, Eric Ouma, James Opiyo, Kalando Ochilo and Joab Ochieng. Nephew to Manoah Oiwang, Peres Agina, WFF Sibondo, BFF Oluande K’Oduol, Nehemiah Oyoo, Lorna Nyamunga, Daniel Orieyo, among others.

Son-in-law of Mr. & Mama Philgona Onyango of Kabuong, Uyoma and Mr. Joseph & Mama Maria Kimbio of Mugangenyika, Taita. Father-in-law of C. Okello, R. Loncke, M. Hemalin, the late E.Agwa & A. Karim. Brother-in-law of the late Jamwa, Esther, Eliza, Nyambu, the late Msafari, Martha, the late Richard Adeya, the late Rose Auma, Margaret, the late Okach Ogada, Florence Ochwada, the late Agnetta, the late Auma, Ales, the late Caroline Ndeda, Jane and Roseline. He is survived by his companion & friend Beatrice Otieno. Doting grandfather of Eric, Amira, Imani, Abubakar, Eugene, Rakim, Ronella, among others. Great-granddaughter Erica. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. A treasured relative of Koyoo family of Gem, Omoros and Olelas of Ugenya Kager.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary – Kisumu, for final rites and burial at his home in Ukaya village, Gem Maliera, Siaya County, on Saturday, 1st May, 2021. Physical attendance will be restricted but Online live stream link will be available.
