GLADYS KAVERE OMBUDU

It is with great sadness that we accept the resting of our Matriarch Gladys Kavere Ombudu on the early morning of 23′ June 2023 at Avenue Hospital, Kisumu.

Gladys worked with the Ministry of Agriculture for 30 years rising in various capacities and serving in various offices and finally worked as Personal Secretary to the Provincial Director of Agriculture – Rift Valley Province before her retirement in 1996.

She was the loving Daughter to the late Chrispo Kitangala and the late Mama Rispa Kitangala of Kegoye Village. Loving daughter in law to the late Joel Imbindi and the late Mary Amagove.

Perfect companion to Zephyr Ombudu Imbindi. Loving Mother to Grace, Collins, Nancy, Cynthia, Allan and Joan. Mother-In-law to William Wambugu, Mildred, Christabel, Arthur Malongo, John Naviava, Ellen Lihanda and Martin Nyanjom. Grandmother to Charles and Winnie, Joshua, Gift, Peace, Precious, Armstrong, Jackline, Rodgers, Brian, Stacy, Glen, Hazel, Aiden, Griffin, Nicole, Daniella and Guku/Cucu to many. Great grandmother to Imani.

Sister to Erica Bulimu, Esnas Majani, Bainito Adego, the late Odanga and the late Taphroza. Sister- in- law to Hellen Jadonya, Loice Oyavo, Priscilla Ingaiza, Daniel Majani, Rose Adego, the late Laban Bulimu, the late Vugutsa, the late Samuel Atianyi and the late Safina, the late Marita Kagika and the late Buyiya, the late Agoya and the late Rebecca Dayo, the late Daina Minage and the late Mudaka, the late Shem Oyavo, the late Robert Jadonya and the late Sikolia.

Auntie and Cousin to the Imbwaga’s, Bulimu’s, Majani’s, Adego’s, Atianyi’s, Agoya’s, Buyiya’s, Mudaka’s, Oyavo’s, Jadonya’s and Sikolia’s.

The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary at 10.00am on 14th July 2023 to proceed to her Zululu Village- Tigoi Sub location home where there will be a night vigil.

The funeral service will be held at her home where she will be laid to rest on 15th July, 2023.
