It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Gladys Muiti Kinyamu on Sunday 17th November 2024 at PCEA, Chogoria Mission Hospital. 

Gladys, lovingly called “Mwarimu” was a dedicated teacher, woman of deep faith, generous and gentle soul, who touched the lives of many. 

She was the beloved daughter of the late Ayub M’Arimunya and Maritha and wife of the late Bedan Kinyamu Ndegwa.

Loving mother of Dr. Harriet Karimi, Job Nkonge & Janet Kathure, George Mwenda, Dr (HC). Roselynn Kainyu, Drs. Jacqueline Kaari & Eric Akunda, Angela Nkatha, the late David Mutwiri & Enedy Kawira.

Beloved Sister of the late Fredrick Mbae and Sarah, the late Edith Ukima & M’Mwirichia, the late Agnes Mukwarama & Muchiri, the late Mutegi, Joannina Mutegi, Anne Karimi & Dr.Njogu, Felicity Muthoni & the late Mutuma, Bridget Mugure & the late Titus Mbaabu and Naomi Kawira & Mate.

Sister-in-law of Alexander Mwarania and the late Aurelia Kiajia.

Grandmother of Doreen Kawira and the late Mwenda, Denise Kinanu & Francis Kaniaru, Ian Muthuri, Laurine Kinya & Jonathan Kimathi, the late Mukiri, the late Chris Akunda, Valentine Kendi,Vivian Makena, Audrey Kanario.

Great grandma of June and Fortune Mwenda, Tindi and Chris Kaniaru, Queen Mwendwa and Aiyana Wanjiru and auntie to numerous nieces and nephews. Many others called her “mami”.

Meetings are being held at St. Andrew’s PCEA Church in Nairobi on Saturday 23rd November 2024 at 2.30pm.

Memorial Service will be held on Monday 25th November 2024 at 2.30pm at the same venue.

Daily meetings are also being held at her Kathigu home from 4.00pm.

The cortege will leave Chogoria Hospital on Thursday 28 th November 2024 at 10.00am for the funeral service at PCEA Miramene Church and thereafter Interment at her home.
