HERENIA AKECH ABONDO

With gratitude to God we celebrate the life of our beloved Matriarch Herenia Akech Abondo who rested peacefully in Christ on 9th October 2020 at Queenteric Hospital Bondo.

Dani was second born of the late Mzee Zacharia Adede Omollo and Mama Ogolla Ayieko. Beloved wife of the late Mzee Benedict Abondo Oburo of Maranda village Bondo Sub-County Siaya County; co-wife to the late Syprose Auma Abondo. Mother of Vincent Ochung’, Florence Aoko, the late Maurice Omondi, Paschalia Akinyi, Christine Akoth, Clementine Ayugi, Charles Opiyo, Francisca Atieno, the late Beatrice Achieng, Philip Dola, Margaret Agie, Nelly Adhiambo and Rose Agik. Stepmother of Dolphina Akoth. Grandmother of 61, great grandmother of 62, great great grandmother of 19.

Sister of the late Mary Auma and the late Petronila Obugo. Mother-in-law of Victoria Atieno, Mary Opela, Late Margaret Akinyi, Eunice Atieno, The late Ambrose Ng’ong’a, Oyugi Mwanda, Aloice Opany, John Akello, Angelika Czeromin, the late David Weya,The late Alfred Kododa and Patrick Isumba. Aunt of the Obadha’s, the Adhoch’s, the Adede’s (of Seme Reru) among others. Nyawana of the Ogollas, Ondijos, Okoths, Mwandas, Mejas (of Seme), Opanys, Akellos, Czeromins, Onyangos, Weyas, Kododas, Agoms and Isumbas. Nyiekene were; the late Grace Ochieng’, Domtila Magaga, Syprose Okebe among others. Yuochene were the late Ochieng’ Oburo, the late Fanuel Magaga Oburo, the late Opola Oburo, the late Olunya Oburo, Okebe Oburo and Alot Magaga, among others.

There will be a requeim mass open to the public on Friday 30th Oct at St Andrews Catholic Church in Bondo from 3.00pm and then Dani will be laid to rest in a ceremony for family and invited guests at her home in Nyapiedho Maranda Usire Sub-Location, Bondo Sub-County, Siaya County on Saturday 31st October 2020.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty
