ISABELLA IGOKI MBABU

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Isabella Mbabu on Friday 19th July 2024.

Isabella Igoki Mbabu, born in 1936 in Baraimu village, Chogoria, Meru, to the late Joseck M’Baimwendwa and the late Rahab Gatune, was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with dedication and love.

Married to the late Leonard Mbabu Mukira, she was a devoted mother of Adiel Nkonge Mbabu, Kenneth Miriti Mbabu, Loyd Gitari Mbabu, the late Catherine Karimi, and Enid Kawira Muthuri, and a loving mother-in-law of Mary Gorretti Nkonge, Susie Miriti, Obadiah Micheu and Muthuri Mwongera.

Isabella’s nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren: Anita Nkonge, Paula Nkonge, Christina Nkonge, Angela Nkonge, Christine Kisara, Michael Miriti, Baraka Gitari, Kawira Micheu, Kendi Micheu, Mwenda Muthuri, Belinda Muthuri, and Elvis Muthuri.

She also cherished her great-grandchildren: Mario Kisara, Maria Kisara, and Nawiri Owendi.

Isabella was a loving sister, aunt, cousin, friend, confidante, and trusted elder to many.

Isabella’s funeral service will be held on Friday 26th July 2024 beginning at 11:00am at St Stephen Methodist Church Meru.

Her spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
