Jacinta Nyambura Waweru

It’s with God’s grace that we accept and announce the passing on of Jacinta Nyambura Waweru formerly of Kenya Commercial Bank (Murang’a and Matuu) which occurred on Friday 28th February 2020 after an illness bravely borne.

She was the chairlady of the Catholic Women Association (CWA) St. Peter Clavers Konguini, Mumbi parish, Murang’a deanery, Murang’a diocese and the National vice chairlady of the Catholic Women Association. She hails from Konguini village, Township Location Murang’a County.

Loving wife of the late Keith Waweru Chege and co-wife of Lilian Nyambura Waweru. Loving Mother of the late Wilfred Isaac Chege Waweru, Charles Maina Waweru (Rafiki Microfinance Bank-Headoffice) and Elizabeth Wanjiru Karuri, Christine Wambui Waweru and Moses Kamau Thuita. Grandmother of Keith Collins Waweru Maina, Jacinta Nyambura Maina, Annette Nyambura Kamau, Jecinta Kabura Kamau, Kevin Thuita Kamau. Daughter of Charles Amon Maina and the late Gricelia Wambui.

Daughter in law of the late Isaac Chege and Phyllis Wambui. Dearest sister of the late Michael Nyaga, the late Boniface Gachira, the late Dr. David Mwangi, Gabriel Gatundu (GG) Nairobi, the late Sr. Egidiah Waithera (Assumption Sisters Nairobi), Christine Wanjiru, John Irungu (Machakos), the late Catherine Wangari, Martin Mugo & Agatha Waruguru. Sister in love of Francis Muchoki and Jane Wanjiku (Texas, USA), Catherine Wanjiru and Peter Karanja (Kamahuha) Jane Wambui Gachira, Agnes Mwangi (Machakos), Jane Muthoni Gatundu (Murang’a), Violet Irungu (Machakos), John Njoroge Methu, the late Lilian Mugo and Harrison Irungu. In law of Joseph Karuri Wamwati and Lucy Watiri Karuri, Dominic Thuita Samson Gathege (Chege) and Phyllis Nyambura Thuita. Cousin, sister in law, auntie, grandmother and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting at Murang’a Mukawa in Murang’a town, her home in Konguini village and Stima hotel Ngara for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral home on Tuesday 10th March at 7.30 am. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph the worker, Mumbi Catholic church from 10,00am, followed by the burial at her home in Konguini.

Jacinta, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race and you have kept the faith. May God rest your soul in eternal peace.
