It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of James Koinange Mathaiya which occurred after a short illness. Son of the late John Mathaiya and the late Phyllis Muthoni Wacuka. Treasured husband of Susan Wanjiku Muritu. Son- in-law of the late Morris Muritu and the late Damaris Muthoni. Brother of Rahab Wanjiku Kibuba, Susan Njeri Mwago, the late Elizabeth Wangui Maingi, Rose Wambugo, Njau Mathaiya and Charles Ndogc. Father-in-law of Leonard Lumumba, Marco Van Sandijk and Kennedy Wangwe. Cherished Father of Phyllis Muthoni Koinange-Lumumba, the late John Mathaiya, Phyllis Van Sandijk, Scolastica Wangwe, John Mathaiya, Rahab Koinange, Moses Muritu and Derrick Njau. Grandfather of 106, James Koinange, Peace Ijayi, Suzette Wangui, Shania Van Sandijk, Nigel James Van Sandijk, Lewis Koinange,Tiffany Wanjiku, Daley Marco,Amanda Nasimiyu, Ronel Koinange among others. Great grandfather to lmani Koinange and 21 others. Doting Uncle of Many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at His home, Thome Estate-Nairobi for prayers and burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home Nairobi on Tuesday 15/9/020 at 8.00 am. The Funeral service and burial will take place thereafter at his farm in juja-Farm-Athi.
