JAMES RAPHAEL GAKIRI KIARIE

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of James Raphael Gakiri Kiarie of Nakuru, Bahati, Karunga-Retired Deputy Director Department of Adult Education- which occurred on 10th October 2021.

Loving husband to Lydia Wangui Kiarie (Shabab Estate). Son of the late Kiarie Gatiba and the late Miriam Wanja Kiarie (Gathiru-ini Kiambu). Adoring and loving dad to Anthony Kiarie (Washington DC), Jane Gicheha (Moi Secondary, Nakuru), Dominic Kiarie (Nairobi), Simon Kiarie, Martin Kiarie (USA),Agnes Kiarie (Equity Bank), Eng. Patricia Kiarie (Athi Water Works Development Agency) and Cecilia Kiarie.

Brother of the late Geoffrey Karanja, the late Keziah Wanjeri, Paulina Ngina Margaret Wanjiku. Father-in-law to Lydia Kiarie (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), John Gicheha (PCEA Kahunira Secondary Githunguri) and Dorothy Kiarie. Uncle to Grace Mzee (Former Register UoN). Cousin to Duncan Mwaniki (Thindigua) and many others.

Grandfather to the late Jimmy Gakiri Kiarie, Mike Kiarie (USA), Ian Mwangi(USA), Joseph Njenga (Kenya Railways), Esther Wangui, Earnest Gakiri, Kristina Wangui, Nathan Gakiri, Nathan Kiruki and Joan Karanja (AAR). A mentor to many, a cheerful friend and had a strong positive impact on his family and friends.

Meetings are being held daily from 4.00 m, at Nakuru Shabab and at his Bahati farm.

The cortege will leave Nakuru War Memorial on 19th October, 2021, at 8:00am, followed by a requiem mass service at Holy Cross Catholic Church – Shabab and thereafter burial will be held at his Bahati farm in Karunga – Nakuru.
