It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Former Commissioner of Prisons, Mr. James Wilson Mareka that occurred on the 23rd of February 2020 at Coptic Hospital due to diabetic complications.

Son of the Late David Mbaki and the Late Margaret Waigwe. He was the husband of Mrs. Miriam Louise Mareka. Father of the Late Judy, Davis, Jane and Samuel. Grandfather of Michelle, Willy, Stephanie, Kristian, Sandra and Waweru. Father-in-law of Stonie, Nancy and Nyambura. Brother of the Late Jane Githae, Late Wanjiru, Late Githu, Late Waithera, Late Catherine King’ori, Mary Misheck and Uncle of many.

Daily meetings and prayers to be held at All Saints’ Cathedral at 5:00 pm and at their home in South B, Likoni Road.

A fundraiser will be held on the 28th of February at 5:00pm at All Saints’ Cathedral. Paybill: 488765, James Wilson Mareka Medical.

Cortege will leave Coptic Funeral Home at 9:30 am on 3rd of March 2020. The Funeral service will be held at All Saints’ Cathedral at 10:00am. Thereafter, the internment will be at Lang’ata Cemetery.
