JANE WOTHAYA NJAGI

It is with humble acceptance of God’s Will that we announce the demise of our matriarch Jane Wothaya Njagi from Gichiche Village, Chinga Location, Othaya Subcounty which occurred on Sunday 22nd September 2024.

Daughter of the late Kanyi Wachira and the late Wambui Kanyi. Wife of the late Joseph Njagi Wamikera. Daughter in-law of the late Wambugu Wakahiu and the late Elena Kamuyu.

Beloved Mother of Daniel Wambugu (Othaya), Wamuyu Kamande (Murang’a), the late Kanyi Njagi, Wambui Muriithi (Josmica -Nyeri), the late Wakahiu Njagi, Cecilia Wangui Munene (Nrb), Wachira Njagi (KEBS), Maina Njagi (Josmica-Nyeri), Esther Njagi (Mwaniki Gachoka Co. Advocates), Ann Njagi (NRB), Mary Muthoni Njagi, Kariuki Njagi (Patson Agencies and Gitahi Njagi (Minjo H/Ware Umoja.

Stepmother of Wanjiru Njagi of USA, the late Kibocha Njagi, Wachira Njagi, Muriithi Njagi (Buda), Wambugu Njagi (Kihara Epcan), Wakahiu Njagi of Nrb County and Wamuyu Njagi.

Sister of Watetu Gichohi, the late Wachira Kanyi, Waruguru (Kirinyaga), the late Edith Wanjiru Kanyi and Humphrey Kariuki Kanyi.

Step sister of Gichohi Kanyi, Rurigi Kanyi among many others.

Mother in-law of Muthoni Wambugu, Kamande, wanjiru Kanyi, Muriithi, Munene Mugo, Njeri & Wanjiku Maina, Icharia, Helen Kariuki and Joyce Gitahi.

She was aunt, cousin and friend to many Grandmother and great-grandmother to several children.

Burial meetings are ongoing online and at her rural home Gichìche near Chinga Dam.

The cortege shall leave Mwai Kibaki Farewell Home on Monday 30th September 2024 at 8.00am for Holy Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church Gichiche at 11.00am thereafter burial at her farm adjacent to the church.
