It is with profound loss and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of John Chege Macharia, of Institute of Primate Research (NMK), that occurred on Monday 24/10/2022 after a long illness bravely borne.

Son to the late Edward Macharia and Elizabeth Wanjiku Macharia of Uthiru. Son-in-law to the late Gabriel Michael Ndungu and the late Elizabeth Njeri Ndungu of Riruta Satellite.

Loving husband to Angela Wanjiku Chege. Doting father to Jonelle Wanjiku and Jovan Macharia.

Brother to Margaret Kariuki & the late Kariuki (Eldoret), George Kamau & Lucy,Jane Mumbi & Thomas, the late Nelly Nduta, Samuel Mbugua & Mary (Kajiado), Nancy Muniu & Peter, Joseph Muthumbi & Virginia and James Mbugua & Wambui.

Brother-in-law to Wathira (Chief – Kasarani), Kiarie (Immigration), Mbugua, Nduta, Kamau, Salome & Ogega, Muthoni & Kamau and Fidesia. Uncle and cousin to many.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily at their residence in Utawala – Githunguri, for funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home – Mbagathi Road on Wednesday 02/11/2022 at 7.00am. The funeral service will be held at ACK – Faith Road, Githunguri / Utawala at 10.00am. Thereafter he will be laid to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery.
