JOHN MWENDWA SHERIFFSAM

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son John Mwendwa Sheriffsam, who went to be with the Lord on 19th October 2024 after a brief illness.

John suffered a ruptured intracranial aneurysm (brain aneurysm) and was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital, where he was in the ICU for over a week before he passed.

His body is currently resting at Lee Funeral Home.

John was born on 16th November, 2002 at Mary Immaculate Maternity Hospital, Mvita Mombasa, and later moved with his family to Nairobi, where he grew up and flourished into a bright, kind-hearted young man.

John was a dedicated student, currently in his third year at Strathmore University, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance option).

His dedication to his studies and his passion for excellence were evident in everything he did.

He was a devout New Apostolic faithful who lived by the values of faith, sacrifice, kindness, and compassion.

He was an active member of the New Apostolic Church Congregation in South C, Nairobi.

John was the beloved elder brother of Elizabeth Mutei, and a cherished son of Sheriffsam Mwangangi Mwendwa, Director Litigation & Compliance Services of the National Assembly of Kenya, and Mary Mutono Kimweli.

He was grandson of Mwendwa Mwikya, late Mutei Mwendwa, Telesia Katisya Mwendwa and late Mr. John Kimweli Ututu and Mrs. Elizabeth Katuti Kimweli.

He was Nephew of Esther Kayumya Mbiti, Peter Kilonzi Kimweli, Sarah Mutile Kimweli, Monicah Wamutwa Kimweli, Mercy Kimweli, Jossy Kimweli, Muatha Mwendwa, Mulei Mwendwa, Grace Mutethya, Agnes Kakii Kimwele, Prof. Monicah, Johnstone Mwikya, Kennedy Kyalo, Mercy Kavata, Lampard Nzunga, Rhoda Mutei, Julius Mwendwa, and many others.

He was cousin of Mawia Mbiti, Kitondo Mbiti, Stephen Mbiti, Mutanu, Mwende, Kibaki, Musya, Queen, Angel, Franklin, Mumo and many others.

John was a friend to many who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, 30 th October 2024, at the New Apostolic Church, South C (Mugoya) from 2:30PM.

Funeral services will follow on Saturday, 2nd November, 2024, at his family home in Mathunyani Village, Mulangoni Location,Tseikuru District, Kitui County.

John will be laid to rest surrounded by his family and loved ones, who mourn the loss of a young life taken too soon but are comforted by the knowledge that he is now at peace in the arms of the Lord.

John will be remembered for his philanthropist and a deeply compassionate character, gentle spirit, his kindness, and the love he shared with all who knew him.

He may be gone from this world, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Rest in peace, John Mwendwa. You will be missed dearly but never forgotten.
