JOSEPH GICHERU MBIRA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mr. Joseph Gicheru Mbira (Formerly of KPLC) which occurred on 29th August 2021 at Avenue Hospital Thika after a long illness.

Beloved husband of the late Lucy Wanjiru and Susan Wandia. Son of the late Robert Mbira and the late Esther Wairimu. Father to the late Anthony Irungu, Daniel Wangewa (Survey – Embu), Esther Wairimu, Susan Muthoni, Evelyn Wairimu (USA), Elias Mwangi, Benson Mbira (Kenya Police Service Mogotio) and Jane Wambui. Brother to Regina Wambui, Peter Waweru, Tarasila Wamuyu, Agnes Nyambura, Late Wanjiru Mwangi, Late Mary Nyaguthii and the late Virginia Wangari.

Brother in law of the late Robert Githinji Wangewa, Rufus Kamuyu Wangewa, Late James Kamau Wangewa, Sofia Wambui Kimani- banana, Nelly Wanjiku Thiong’o – Kangemi, Jecinta Wanjiku – Nakuru, Esther Wairimu -Kabete, Lydia Ruguru Kanja-Ngong, Patrick Kibe Wangewa-Thiongo -road, Eliud Kimundu-Rukanga and many others. Grandfather to Maureen, Isaac, Felister, Hope (USA), Diana,Abigail and others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Kambiti and Sunrise comfort Hotel in Embu for prayers and burial preparations.

The cortege will depart from Montenzuma Monalisa funeral home at Kabati along Nairobi-Nyeri/ Murang’a Highway on Tuesday 14th September 2021 at 10:00am for burial service and thereafter burial at his Kambiti home, Kambiti Village Murang’a County.
