JOSIAH KIMUTAI SANG, EBS

It is with profound sorrow and respect, we announce the passing of Josiah Kimutai Sang, E.B.S., former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands & Settlement and Ministry of Tourism (1988 – 1997), and Emeritus Chairman, Myoot Kalenjin Council of Elders.
He was the cherished son of the late Senior Chief Cheborge Arap Tengecha and the late Elizabeth Taprangwe Tengecha.
Josiah was the beloved husband of the late Lucy Sang and a devoted father of Prof. Charles, Dr. Kathryn, Ernest, Lawrence, Hon.Kiptergech, Sophie and Abraham.
He was a revered father-in-law of Rose, the late Charles, Liza, Caroline, Beatrice, Emmanuel,and Edith.
As a proud grandfather, he leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren John, Peter, Lucy Joy,Taita,Towett, Marion, Melvin, Mark, Martin, Marcus, Kipngeno, Liz, Amelia, Tai, Jayden, Christian, Darrell and Leo and his great-grandchild, Tatala.
He was a respected son-in-law of the late Micah Arap Koituk and the late Leah Kalya and a brother of the late Councillor Grace, the late Alice, Loice, the late David, the late Jennifer, Ayub, late Sally, late Esther, Martha, and late Leonard,the late Senior Chief Kipkemoi Sang, the late Mwalimu Sang, the late Joseph Daniel Sang, Johana Sang, Paul Sang, Joshua, Margaret, and Leah, the late Clerk, Kipsoimo, Francis, Fundi, Councillor Lukwek, the late Elizabeth, Mary, the late Zedy, the late Kilisho and the late Peter.
Brother-in-law of the late Rael Kalya, Lily Suge, Alice Tare, Betsy Kamau, the late Samuel, the late Chebochok, the late Zakayo, the late Dinah, Esther, Philip, and Rtd Chief Jonathan, among others.
Josiah also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, including; Edna Bore, Passy Kosgei, Anne Koech, the late Wilfred Korir, Janet Kirui, Henry Ngeno, Hellen, Irene Koech, Janet, Lily, Betsy, Isaac, Dominic, Rosemary, Rita, Irene, Howard, Kipselim, Tony, Eva Komen, Henry, Chief Linner, Dr. Frankline, Charles,Val, Kipruto Chumo, Chepngetich, Alfred and Henry Koech among others.
Funeral Arrangements: Funeral arrangements meetings are held daily at Jabavu Court, Hurlingham, and Kapkatet Home from 4.00pm.
The burial service will be held on Saturday, 6th July, 2024, at his Kapkatet home in Bureti, Kericho County, starting at 10:00am.
