JOYCE WANJIRU MATHAI

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mrs. Joyce Wanjiru Mathai of Mathai Timber – Nakuru, which occurred on 5th September, 2023 after a short illness.

Daughter of the late Edward Ngure and the late Lizzy Muthoni of Kanyariri. Daughter-in-law of the late Josiah Kihumba and the late Bernice Wambui Kihumba of Rumwe Njoro.

Wife of David Mathai Kihumba (Mathai Timber) Nakuru. Mother of Josiah Kihumba Mathai (Nakuru), Bernice Wambui Thumari (USA), and the late Edward Ngure Mathai. Mother-in-law to Esther Kihumba (Nakuru) and Antony Thumari (USA). Grandmother to Joyce Kihumba, Mandisa Kihumba, Thabisa Kihumba, Dominique Thumari, Denise Thumari and Declan Thumari.

Sister to Elizabeth Wanjiku Mungai of Gikambura, the late James Muirikia, Lawrence Kinuthia, Kezia Nyambura, Stephen Karanja, the late Godfrey Thendeu, the late Marion Njeri, the late Clint Chege and Aldrine Thongo all of Kikuyu.

Sister-in-law to Hellen & Patrick (Nairobi), Hellen & the late Andrew Wambari, Becky & Pastor Charles Mwangi (USA), Isabel & Peter (Nairobi), Triza & the late Jona Gichuha of Nakuru, Josephine & David Gichuki (Nakuru), the late Stephen Njoroge, Keziah and Edwin of Magina, Salome & the late Bernard Ngunjiri, The late Nelly & the late Thumbi of Njoro Rumwe.

Family and friends are meeting daily at their residence in Mama Ngina, Phase III, Section 58 -Nakuru from 5.00pm for prayers and burial preparations.

The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home – Nakuru, on Wednesday 13th September, 2023 at 9.00am for a funeral and burial service at Rumwe Farm in Njoro – Nakuru County.
