He was the son of the Late Zackariah M’Muchena and Teresia Muchena of Nkabune, Meru County. Husband of Anne Nkatha Kithinji and son in law of the late Albert Mutwiri and Jane Wairimu Mutwiri. Loving father of Jedida and Hamisi Mwaghuni, Billy Murlithi, Lyn Wairimu and Christine Kanyiri.

Brother of Bishop Boniface & Beatrice Marira, Martha & Gitonga Kiome, Muchena (Kabuuru) Regina & Erastus Kiugu, Inyasia Michael Mungania, Mary & the Late Murangiri, the Late Kinyua and Petronilla & Ken Gitonga. He was an uncle and cousin to many

The cortege leaves  Meru Level 5 Hospital mortuary at 9.00a.m on Saturday 7th March 2020 for the final resting place at his Nkabune Home, Meru.
