It’s with humble acceptance of God’ s will that we announce the death of retired teacher and Lay Canon of the ACK Diocese of Bungoma, Lay Canon Flakona Sino Wafula, on 08/08/2022, after a long battle with cancer.

Wife of retired teacher and Lay Canon John Wafula Khisa of Musikoma, Bungoma County. Daughter of the late Mwalimu Alfred Inganga Sino and the late Sela Jessica Shikanda of Ebulanda Butere Sub-county, Kakamega County. Daughter-in-law to the late Gabriel Khisa and the late Selina Naluende of Kimalewa, Kimilili, Bungoma.

Mother to Dr Wafula Nalwa (Kisumu Heart Centre), Hon. Tom Mbayaki (Judiciary), Dr George Wangasa (Imperial Health), Hon. David Wakoli (PSC, Bungoma) Wafula and Grace Busina (Kolanya Girls). Mother-in-law to Faith Makena, Juliet Adong, Dr Muthoni Kirimi (Pathologists Lancet), Irene Khisa (NPS) and Daniel Montongori Bongate (Interior).

Sister to the late Anne Ondari, Mary Shivachi, John W Akhusama, Moses Lubanga, Flora Atsango, Francis Omwaka, George Arunga Sino (Kisumu), Ruth Ayuma Orwaru (Kisii), Sarah Masalchwe,Aggrey Anekeya, Mical Oluteyo (OP) and Stephen Moi.

Sister-in-law to Joseph Khisa (USA), Henry Wanjala (USA), Fred Wekesa, Julius Wanyonyi, Gladys Nafula, the late Mary Goretti Naliaka, Josca Nasimiyu, David Mbayaki, Emirundu, the late Kingili,Agnes, Margaret, Midenyo, Reverend Orwaru and Beryl Arunga

Grandmother to Tabitha Baraka, Daniel Amani, Jonathan Karama, Abigail Jessicola, Gloria, Esther, Emmanuela, Praise, Caleb, Joshua, Selina, Tabitha Wakoli, John Wakoli, Gabriella, John Wangasa and Precious Selina. Aunt, cousin, friend, board chair, board member, community health worker in service to many.

The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary on Thursday 18/08/2022, at 8.00am, for requiem mass at St. Crispin’s ACK Cathedral – Bungoma, at 11.00am.

There will be an overnight vigil at her home on Thursday 18/08/2022. Burial will be on Friday 19/08/2022, at her Paradiso Farm, Kisule Musikoma, Bungoma County.
