LEAH CHERONO CHELUGUI (NONO)

17th January 1979 – 8th July 2023

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing away of Leah Cherono Chelugui (Nono) of Kenya Pipeline Company, Mombasa, on 8th July 2023 at the Nairobi Hospital. Nona was a remarkable soul who valiantly battled her long illness with unwavering strength and faith.

She was the daughter to Senior Chief Noah Chelugui and Susan Chelugui of Sugoi location, Uasin Gishu County and a beloved daughter-in-law to Hannington Ojwang and Judith Nyakoyo Ojwang of Kochieng location, Kisumu County.

Nono is survived by her husband James Siku Ojwang (Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa) and three lovely children, Janelle Siku (Apostolic Camel Girls Buruburu), Juanita Siku, and Jeremy Siku (The Nyali School).

She was sister to David Chelugui, Evelyne Serem, Sarah Kernel, Mary Cherwon, Hellen Cheruiyot, Ben Chelugui, Lilian Mwei, Becky Chelugui and the late Charles Chelugui and sister-in-law to Otuoma Ojwang, Jacob Owiny Ojwang, Tom Ojwang, Joseph Ochieng Ojwang, RuthOyoo, Christine Ogweno, Phina Ojwang, Mary Nyangada, David Aling, Allan Obala, Eng. Laban Oyuke, Jared Owiny Deya, Hesborn Olweny, Ayub Oruko, Caren Aduwi, Caroline Owiny, Eucabeth Owiny, the late Joan Ojwang and Esau Ojwang.

The body lies at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Nairobi.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home’s Chapel in Nairobi on Thursday, 20th July 2023 at 2.00pm.

We will bid Nono farewell at her home and final resting place in Kachola Village, Kochieng location, Kisumu County, on Saturday, 22nd July, 2023.
