LUCAS BEN OYUYO AMONDO

With grieving hearts and submissive acceptance of God’s will, we announce the death of Lucas Ben Oyuyo Amondo, previously of Barclays Bank (K) Limited, on Tuesday 24th August, 2021.

Loving and adoring husband of Joy Oyuyo. Devoted father of Jullie Oyuyo Odadi, Lawrence Oyuyo, Judy Oyuyo Soetan, Carole Oyuyo Otieno and Jackie Oyuyo Githinji. Affectionate father-in-law of Wilson Otieno Odadi, Laura Amayo Oyuyo, Adewole Soetan, Cecil Omondi Otieno and Timothy Githinji Wanjohi. The most doting grandfather of Jay Okiki, Luca Hera Oyuyo, Bernard Kayo Odadi and Ayala Oyuyo.

Son of the late Mzee Dalmas Amondo Owuor and the late Wilfrida Oduol of Alego K’Ogelo. Son-in-law of the late Mzee Josiah Ahere and Mama Grace Ongeche of Alego Kaluo. Step-son of Margret Amondo, Risper Amondo and Agnes Amondo (all deceased). Step-brother to Paul Okidi (deceased), Joseph Oduor, Jared Olola, Paul Onyango (deceased), Lucas Ojema, Sylvester Aluora, Teresa Achieng, Mary Atieno, Mornica Awandu, Wilkister Auma, Jacklin Achieng, Celine Awuor, Helida Atieno, the late Mary, the late Hellen and the late Grace.

Nyawana to the families of the late Mzee Abner Odadi, the late Hon. David Okiki Amayo, the late Afolabi Soetan, the late Meschack Ongili Otieno and Dr. Gerald J. Wanjohi. Son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle to the Ahere family. Nephew of the late Ambrose Adeya Adongo, Tito Marshall Osanya, the late Wilson Polo, the late Apoli Mugwang’a, Ben Otuka, among others. An uncle and cousin to many, including John Onyango, Alfred Kunja, the Adeyas, the Ondeng’s, the Osanyas, and the Mugwang’as. A friend and patron to many: BBK Pensioners, Kasuku Welfare Team, Friends of St. Pantaleon, Down Lake Investments, Holy Cross Catholic Church and Johula Welfare Association.

A Requiem Mass will be held at the Holy Family Basilica – Nairobi, on Monday 6th September, 2021, at 2:00pm.

Lucas Oyuyo will be laid to rest at his home in Ting’ Wang’i, Alego, Siaya County on Wednesday 8th September, 2021.
