LUKE KIPKEROR RONO

1954 to 2024

We wish to announce the sudden demise of Mr.Luke Kipkeror Rono (Kapkong’eluk Olenguruone), which occurred on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at his home in Nakuru City.

The late Rono was the son of the late Kiprono Arap Kimetto (Rosuei) and the late Emily Kimetto. He was the husband of Florence Chemutai Rono (Kap Arap Kiget – Olenguruone) and father of Winfred (Davis & Shirtliff), Jackline (Habitat for Humanity), Daniel (Jesuits), Damaris, Alex, and Anthony.

Father-In law of Maj. Rtd. James Ngeno (KQ).

He was a grandfather of Fidelsoy and Wema.

He was brother of the late Stanley Rono, Dr. Henry K. Rono (KU), the late Mary Too (Bidii), Joan Maritim, Eunice Busienei, the late James Kipchumba, the late Kipkeino Arap Bungei,  Bot Kipsoimo, Bot Kipng’ota, the late Bot Chelulei, the late Kimulany Arap Rono (Ainabkoi), the late Elizabeth Sambai (Kapmoek – Kapchepkener), the late Kimitei Arap Bungei (Arangai/Kaplois), the late Kipkurgat Arap Muzee, the late Cheruiyot Arap Yator (Arangai/Kaplois), Elizabeth Jeptanui (Kapndalut), and Kipkoech Arap Samoei (Lekageny). 

He was a brother-in-law of Florence Rono, Sally Rono, the late Evelyn Rono, Johnson Arap Too (Bidii), Kipserem Maritim, James Busienei, and Anna Kipchumba.

Family and friends are meeting daily for burial preparations at his home in Olive-Inn (Nakuru) from 5.00PM, at his rural home in Kiptenden (Olenguruone) from 3.00PM, and in Nairobi (South B, Riverbank Estate) from 5.00PM.

Fundraising will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at his rural home in Kiptenden (Olenguruone) from 3.00PM, and a similar fundraising will be held in Nairobi  (Public Service Club) on the same day from 5.00PM.

The cortege will leave PNN Funeral Home Nakuru (Mediheal) on August 22, 2024, at 9.00AM for a Requiem Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Church Nakuru; thereafter, the procession will proceed to his home (Kiptenden village) in Olenguruone – Kuresoi South. The burial will take place on August 23, 2024 at his home in Kiptenden from 9.00AM.
