MAMA CATHERINE JEPSAT KIPLAGAT

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Catherine Jepsat Kiplagat on 19th October 2023 at Living Room International Hospital, Kipkorgot after a long illness bravely borne.

Mama Catherine Jepsat was born in the year 1945 to the late Chebii Kimeco and the late Kabon Kimetto of Irong Location, Sergoit Sub Location, Keiyo North, Elgeiyo Marakwet County. She was also daughter to Christine Sogome Kimetto. She was sister to the late Kipserem Chebii, the late Anna Cherugut of Kap Amos Ainabkoi, the late John Kwambai and Michael Rotich. She was also sister to the late Francis Chebii, the late Lazaro Chebii, Benjamin Chebii (Kaptagat Scheme), Magrina Chesire (Kapkisaban), Rosemary Cheboi and Flora Chebii.

She was married to Mr William Kiplagat Tiony and co-wife to Clementina Kiplagat. She was mother to Maurice, Commandant Kapu, the late Margaret. Pentine (Forestry Service). Salome (Principal-Bulbul Secondary School), Caroline (KENHA), Gilbert (Forestry Service), Isabella (MTRH), Judith (Chamgei FM),A delaide (South Carolina, USA), Francis (Kenya Navy), Silas (Elgeiyo Marakwet County), Robert, Karen (EACC-Nairobi), Winnie (Dimension Data), Gladys and Steve (USA).

Mother-in-law to Damaris, Grace, the late Mark, John, Jack (STABEX International), Sharon, Gladys, Tom, Ann, David, Reuben, Andrew, Mike and Swetha.

She was blessed with several grandchildren: Chero, Kipruro, Hillary, Kevin, Cherop, Dr. Chero Brenda, Kogei, Faith Chirie, the late Brian, Cheptoo Valerie, Wendy, Judith, Beryl, Branson, Rachael, Jane, Joy, Chela, Jimmy, Deb, Linda, Faith, Nathan, Memo, Daniella, Kigen, Chumba, Obama,Alvin, Faith Mbone, Kemboi, Emmanuella, Gabriella Chebet, Tetyo, Grace, Hope,Taylor, Jayden Kiplimo, Blessings, Manu, Emma, Jayden,Victor, Satya Kipyator and Joy. Great-grandchildren: Bruce, Junior, Tiffany, Litonia, Genesis, Nene, Drone And Adams.

The cortege leaves Moi Teaching and Referral Mortuary on Friday 27th October at 2.00pm for an overnight vigil at her home. Mass and funeral service will be held on Saturday 28th October 2023 from 9.00am at her home in Kaptuli Village, Moiben Constituency Uasin Gishu County.
