MAMA DORICE AHONO MAKANGA

With profound sorrow and acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of Mama Dorice Ahono Makanga on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. 

Mama Dorice was the beloved daughter of the late Mzee Obadiah Otieno Omonya and the late Mama Lusianah Oronga Omonya.

She was the devoted wife of the late Makanga Osinde Atamba and a cherished daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Atamba Nzunzune.

A nurturing mother, she is survived by Mikah Ongaya, Joram Ochieng Makanga, Dina Okombe, and Naphtali Nyangila (NMG), as well as the late Leah and the late Abnery.

Mama Dorice was a treasured grandmother of Clara, Leisah, Gyan, Leah, Quintah, Audry, Latisha, Latifa, Gift, Blessing and Melody.

She was a sister, of Joshua Omunya, Joram Demba, Sicilia, Nereah, Damaris, Justus Atieli, Floice Asiko, Tom Omukambi, Gladys Aluso, Jacob Apoka, Christine Atala, and Sachel Kuta.

Mama Dorice was more than a mother, grandmother, and sister; she was a treasured friend, aunt, and mentor to many.

Family and friends are gathering daily at her home in Esiarambatsi, Vihiga County, starting at 8:00 am for funeral preparations.

The cortege will leave Hope Mission Funeral Home (Itando) on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00 am.

The funeral service and burial will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at her homestead in Esiarambatsi Village, Emuhaya Sub-county,Vihiga County.
