MAMA DORINA AKEYO OBURU

We the Oburus are saddened to announce the demise of our dear mother and a grandmother of many, Mama Dorina Akeyo Oburu was the beloved wife of The Late Mzee Hellekia Oburu Jagero.

She was daughter of The Late Mzee Israel Owuato Pundo and The Late Mama Agutu Owuato. Mama Dorina rested on Friday, July 19th 2024.

Mama Dorina was the mother of Eunice Judith Auma Ganda, Dr. Gilbert J.O.F Oburu, Ruth Asha Adoyo Owino, Brian Oburu and Margaret Oburu.

She was also mother of Solomon Oburu,Wajumbe, Peter, Samwel, Mary, Janet, Damaris among others.

Mama Dorina was the grandmother of Henry Ganda, Dr. Peter Oburu, Fred & Lillian Ganda, Darius Ganda, Judith, Linda, Benjamin & Barbara Ganda, Brian & Dr. Victoria Crow, Roseanne Ganda, John Ganda, Stacey Owino, Christine Dorine Owino, Benjamin Owino, Ipa Oburu, Sean Oburu, Hillary Oburu, Giselle Oburu, Erica Dereen, Gilbert Jr Oburu, Barack Oburu, and Amber Montana Felicity amongst others.

She was the mother-in-law of Peres Oburu, Claris Oburu, Prisca Onimbo-Oburu, Beryl Awino-Oburu, amongst others.

The body is currently lying at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.

The burial is scheduled for Friday, 9th August 2024 at The late Mzee Hellekiah Oburu’s home in Rusinga Island.

The Funeral Service will be held on August 7th at Nairobi Central SDA Church. The body shall leave for Rusinga on Thursday, August 8th 2024.

The fundraiser to support with the funeral arrangements will be held at Nairobi Central SDA Church on Wednesday, July 31st from 5:30 pm.
