We graciously announce the falling asleep of Mama Hellen Osita Amaya on 19th May, 2020.

Beloved wife of the late mzee Hanningtone Amaya Otoko. Daughter of the late Kweya Ongalo and the late Deborah Mabusi Kweya. Sister of Flora Awonda, Nelson Makanga, Pesi Kweya, Alfayo Esikuri and Stella Andenyi Kweya Ombwara (all deceased). Sister-in-law of Omwakwe Otoko, Joab Liselo, Komwa Otoko, Asila Otoko, Murwa Otoko, the late Crispus Obwara and Jerida Lukose (all deceased).

Mother of Lydia Omwaka, Rhoda Aluso, the late Julia Amaya, Catherine Awinja, Livingstone Kweya, Deborah Muhandick, the late Dorcas Amaya, Joyce Amaya and Ketra Amaya. Mother-in-law of John Omwaka, the late Wilfred M Akanyika, Lt Col (Rtd) Joe Mshindo, Fredrick Otieno, Col (Rtd) Dick Muhandick, the late Reuben Imbudira, Joseph Kihima, Prof John Muoma and Serah Kweya. Aunt of the Liselo’s, Komwa’s, Asila’s, Lukose’s, Kweya’s and Ombwara’s. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mama shall be laid to rest on 30th May at her home in Epang’a village, Vihiga county.
