MAMA JOYCE AKELLO OKOTH

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we, Nyamundhe family, announce the promotion to glory of Mama Joyce Akello Okoth on 9th October, 2021, at Avenue Hospital – Kisumu.

She was daughter of the late mzee Mathia Okach and mama Sippora Achieng Okach of Gem Sinaga. Wife of the late Henry Okoth Nyamundhe and co-wife to Susan Okoth. Mother to George Ongaya, Alice Atieno, Gladys Okoth, Lillian Oduk, Janet Oduor, Billy Okoth, Booker Okoth, Beatrice Edewor, the late Mary Ager and Dennis Okatch, step mother to Paul Okoth, sister to Hannington Muga, Fibi Were, Alice Kalori, the late Salome Meta, Ada Mbai, Joram Otiende and Enoka Okatch. Mother-in-law to Joe Ager, Oliver Oduk, Derek Edewor, Margaret Ongaya, Grace Billy, Lydia Okoth, Hellen Okatch, Beatrice Okatch, Mary Julian Okoth and the late Frank Ober.

Grandmother to Robert Ongaya, Henry Mulindi, Priscilla Ager, Toti Nicholls, Paula Oduk, Appeles Oduor, Frank Junior, Billy Booker, Lorna Okoth, Awasi Okatch, Barack Okatch, Daniel Edewor, William Ongaya and the late Alfred Hawi among others. She has left behind 16 great grand children.

She was sister in-law to Hannington Odongo, the late Eliakim Akanda, Magdalina Arodi, Festo Njer, Christabel Genga, Yuanita Okech, Herenia Oyare, William Ochuodho, Patrick Okwengu,Washington Were and Winston Opiyo. She was an aunt to Janet Kinda, Fredrick Were, Judith Oluoch, Philip Opiyo, Collins Ogembo and the late Hesborn Chore, among others.

Relatives & friends are meeting at her home in Kasagam – Kisumu, for prayers and funeral arrangements from 2:00 pm – 4.00 pm daily.

The main fundraising is on Monday, October I 8th 2021 at All Saints Cathedral – Nairobi, from 5:00pm and same time on Wednesday, October 20th 2021 at Public Service Club Kisumu. Contributions can be made through M-Changa, PAYBILL: (8043465) – Account: (Joyce Okoth Funeral).

Funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s ACK Church Pandpieri – Kisumu, on Thursday, October 21st 2021 at 2:00pm.

The cortege leaves Kisumu District Hospital Mortuary, on Friday, October 22nd 2021 at 5:00 am for burial at her home in Nyalenda, Kasagam, Kisumu County.
