MAMA LYDIA ACHIENG OWUO

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that the family of Mzee Joel Rachuonyo Owuor announce the sudden death of Mama Lydia Achieng Owuor at Nightingale Hospital, Kisumu on 30th December, 2024.

She was the wife of the Late Mzee Joel Rachuonyo Owuor of Ranen, Migori County.

She was the Daughter of the Late Agolla Apuoyo and the Late Dinah Abong of West Kamagak Location Rachuonyo District.

She was mother of the Late Liziah Rachuonyo,Violet Rachuonyo, Irene Rachuonyo, Tom Rachuonyo, the Late Geoffrey Rachuonyo and Beatrice Rachuonyo.

She was also step-mother of Margaret Rachuonyo, Duncan Odoyo, Olivia Obel, Evans Owuor, Clifford Rachuonyo, Dorothy Ouma, Japheth Rachuonyo, Harold Rachuonyo, Stephen Rachuonyo and the Late Ray Ogola.

She was daughter in law of both the Late Harun Owuor and Adah Nyambune.

Mama was a loving mother-in-law of Maria Rachuonyo, Rosebella Rachuonyo, Pamela Odoyo, Millicent Owuor, Sarah Okelo, Molly Ondiwa, Lorna Rachuonyo, Rachel Ndiema Anindo, Aisha Otieno, Janet Odiwuor, Julian Olwa, Carolyne Kim among others.

Mama was an affectionate grandmother of Kelvin Dan, Jeremy Asimba, Steve Omondi, Mathew Asimba, Joel Rachuonyo, Russell Rachuonyo, Christian Skye, Ellarie Rachuonyo, James Otieno, Edwin Odoyo, Allan Owuor, Erick Okelo, Eugene Ondiwa among others.

She was a great grandmother of Ansel Omondi amongst others.

Mama is survived by her Brother Isaiah Ramogi, Johnson Agola and sister Grace Ajuoga.

Nyawana of Victor & Marie Teresa of Castries St. Lucia, Dr. Fredrick Ndede & Mrs.Agatha Odhiambo, the Late Esau and Phelgona Asimba & Samson & Plister Odhier amongst others.

The Cortege will leave Med 25 Kirindo Funeral Home on 16th January, 2025 for an overnight vigil at her home in Kogelo Kaminasuo, Dago Village, Migori County.

The funeral service will be held at her home on 17th January 2025 beginning at 9.30am thereafter by interment.
