MAMA MARY MUTHONI MWAI

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mama Mary Muthoni Mwai of Hiriga Sub-Location, Ngorano Location, Ruguru Ward, Mathira West Sub-County in Nyeri County.

She was the daughter of the late Joram Thumbi and the late Wambui Thumbi.

She was the beloved wife of the late Mwalimu Moses Mwai Njeru. Mother to the late Helen Mumbi, Jane Wambui, Festus Njeru, the late Joram Njoroge, the late Esther Ny-abera,Anne Ngunju, Benjamin Mainadames Theuri, Nelius Waruguru, Betty Nyawira and Bishop David Gichuhi. She was the foster mother to Margaret Nyaguthii Mwangi.

She was the mother-in-law to Christopher Migwi, NeliusWangui, Gladys Gathigia, Eng. Dr. Johnson Matujackson Njuki, Naomi Gakenia, Elizabeth Nduta, Daniel Wang’ang’a Muchai, Rudi De- Proost and Stella Nyambura.

She was a sister to the late Lucy Ngunju, Eunice Ngunju Gichuhi, the late William Maina, the late Charles Kinyua, Susan Wambui and the late James Karani.

She was the sister-in-law to the late Ephantus Maina. She was a grandmother to 27 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are meeting for prayers and funeral preparations at St.Andrew’s PCEA Old Church from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and at her Hiriga home from 3:00pm to 5:00pm from Monday to Wednesday.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home at 7:00am on 8th June 2023 for a funeral service at Hiriga Primary School grounds. She will be laid to rest at her Gitathi Farm in Hiriga.
