MAMA ROSE NANJALA WAMALWA

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mama Rose Nanjala Wamalwa (formerly with the Ford Foundation,) which occurred on 24th May 2021. She was the daughter of the late Stephen Uluma and Jedida Khasandi of Navakholo, Bunyala, Kakamega County.

She was the be-loved wife of the late Dr. William Ndala Wamalwa formerly Chief, Division of Administration and Conference Services, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 1981 – 1993.

She was the loving mother of Betty Wamalwa (Sitawa Namwalie), Geoffrey Muragori Macharia, Doreen Wamalwa Vester, Gerald Ndala Wamalwa, Eric and Christine Wamalwa and Edgar and Mary-Ann Wamalwa.

She was a doting grandmother to Kai, William, Nicole, Macharia, Mukami, Wambui, Joseph, Wamalwa, Sitawa and Alice.

She was sister to Justus Wechuli, the late Ezekiel Wakwauvi, Agneta Nafula, the late Isaac Wanjie, Luke Wawire, the late Anne Sitawa, Edward Lufuyo, Osbon Mutongoi, Javan Uluma, Proteus Wam-busi, Nation Munala and Grace Uluma. She was a cherished aunt, grandmother, friend and mentor
to many.

A memorial service will take place at 11am, on Wednesday 2nd June 2021 at St. Mathews Church, Hardy Estate, Karen.

The funeral and burial will take place on Friday 4th June at the family home in Navakholo Division, Bunyala East Location, Namirama Sub-Location, Kakamega County.
