MARGARET ATIENO OPIYO

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mrs. Margaret Atieno Opiyo which occurred on Sunday 15th September 2024.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Joshua Otieno Opiyo of Kokoth Kateng’ Village, West Karachuonyo, Homabay County. 

Daughter of the late Ananiah Ogutu and the late Mama Nereah Ogutu of Uyoma Katweng’a.

Daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Samuel Opiyo Odero and the late Mary Opiyo.

Mother of Charles Ochieng, Robert Odero Otieno, Beryl Akinyi and Jimmy Young Odhiambo. Mother-in-law of Isabel Oyamo. 

Grandmother of Elsy, Joshua and Ella. Sister of Apolo Juma, the late Eng. Jeconiah Odhiambo, Eng. Leonard Ogutu, Hellen Odongo, Prof. Elly Ogutu, the late Selina Owira, Dr. Zablon Ogutu and Prof.Omondi Ogutu.

Sister-in-law of Maurice Owira, John Odongo, the late Adder Juma, Ruth Juma, Margaret Odhiambo, Dolorosa Ogutu, Florence Ogutu, Serafine Ogutu and Dorcas Ogutu. Her uncles include Cannon Joshua Ayugi, Benjamin Aketch among others.

She was daughter-in-law of the late Pastor Elisha Arunga, the late Fred Ogodo, the late Jackson Awino, the late Adoyo Odero, Flentinus Atieno, the late Cllr. Shem Kisero, the late Senior Chief Benjamin Awino, the late Tom Okoth, Micah Mitoko, Robert Omollo, the late Dickson Sine, the late Dick Opiyo and Philemon Muok.

A funeral service will be held at the All Saints Cathedral on Friday 27th September 2024 at 12.00p.m.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Sunday the 29 th September 2024.

Burial takes place on Monday the 30th September, 2024 at Kokoth Kateng,’ Kanyamfwa Village, West Karachuonyo, Homa Bay County.
