It is with humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the passing on of Margaret Wanjiku Gatembu (St. Mary’s Ktharu, Murang’a).

Loving wife of Simeon Gatembu. Daughter of the law Bakari Swaleh and Yasmin NjeriGakere, Mother of Loise Wamaitha, James lrungu, Jane Nieri, Richard Mwangi, Christopher Gatuiri, John Gakere, and Raphael Karanja. Sister of Shaban Gakere, the late Ibrahim Bakari, the late Adija, Nuru, Sophia, Barka, the late Ashy, Lelu and the late Fatuma. Sister-in-law of the late Mwangi, the late Wanjiru, the late Kinuthia, the late Mungai, Raphael and Felicina. Daughter-in-law of the late Mutwiri and Wamaitha. Mother-In-love of Gitau Mbiga, Moses Cheruiyot, Susan Njeri, Patricia Mumo, Agnes Wangari and Flora Karanja. Grandmother of Jimmy, Jane, Maureen, Winnie, Caroline, Leonida, Timothy, Flora, Bruno, Debra, Rose, Dennis, Margaret Mwangi, Praise, Christina, Margaret Gatwiri and Derrick. Great-grandmother of Quinton, Rekisha and Shelby.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her home in St Mary’s and Nyeri Classic home.

The cortege leaves Outspan Funeral Home Nyeri on Friday 19th March 2021 at 8.00am. She will later be laid to rest at her home in Kiharu Murang’a near Murang’a University of Technology.
