It is with great sadness and gratitude to God that we announce the resting of our matriarch Maricela Calister Moguche.

Daughter to the late Mokong’u Mautia and Moiro Kemunto.

Married to the late Bernard Lucas Motari Mobagi. Mother to Lucinnah Nyabuti, Rose Motari, Linus Nyabuti (U.S.A), Norah Bichang’a, Mellen Motari, Rev. Fr. Motari AJ Charles (The Vicar General Kisii Diocese), the late Tom Motari, Lazarus Mobagi and Dr. Angeline Mokaya (U.S.A).

She was the mother-in-law to Charles Simba, Jane Nyabuti (U.S.A), Japhet Nyachoi, Peter Bichang’a, Christopher Matagaro, Dr. Robert Matunda (U.S.A) and Olpha Moraa.

Sister to Robina Basweti, Christina Mokong’u and Priscah Mokong’u and the late Rebecca Mong’ina Nyakaya, Mose Mokong’u.

A grandmother and great grandmother to many, including Dominic, Alphosina. Sister Angelica Kemuma (Nyansiongo Parish), Alex, Steve (USA), Zakayo, Michelle (USA), Philip, among others.

Fundraising will be held on Tuesday, 4th July 2023 at 680 Hotel Nairobi.

Service will be on 6th July 2023 at Kisii Cathedral, then a procession to Nyasumi and Eronge. Laying to rest will be at her home Eronge, Borabu, on the 7th July 2023.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her soul. May she rest in eternal peace.
