It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of (dada in Christ) Martha Sewe Ochwada which occurred on 15th February, 2023 after a short illness.

Wife to the late Mwalimu Clement Ochwada. Beloved Mother to the late Dan Ochwada, Brenda Okochi, Mary Osinya, Joseph Ochwada (former HR Director-EAC, & Chief Officer-Machakos County), Ronald Ochwada (former KENTTEC Regional Coordinator — Rift Valley Region) & the late Kenneth Ochwada.

Mother in law to Francisca, John Okochi, Albert Okwaba, Gaudencia, Eileen, Mary & the late Rose.

Grand Mother to Leslie, Aloo, Davis, Joyce, Wilson, the late Clement, Mildred, Violet Dan, Kevin, Collins. Gladwell, Ruth, Clement, Sarah, Nicholas, Mark, Joseph, Bernard, Nicolette, Martha, Gerald, Angela, Stella, Gloria, Brian, Emmanuel & Joshua among others. Great grandmother to many.

Daughter in law to the late Mzee Mugubi Ochwada & the late Mama Nadongo. She was co-wife to the late Rispa Khamala & Bathseba Ajiambo.

Daughter of the late Mzee Joel Obala & the late Mama Otuko Nyaboro. Sister to the late Veronica Aloo, the late Elijah Okumu, the late Wilson Obiero, the late Justus Mwendapole, the late Albert Obala, Julia Ayieko, the late Jared Obala, the late Margaret Anyango, Painito Opondo & Reuben Ojiambo.

Cousin to the late Alphonse Miyawa, Cosmas Miyawa & others. Auntie to the late Adera, the late William Oduori, the late Ernest Ochieng, the late Susan, Joseph, the late Rispa, James, Elizabeth, Ruth, the late Akinyi the late Samuel, the late Janes, the late Ronald, Elphas and others. Sister in law to many.

The cortege will leave Nangina Hospital Funeral Home on Friday 3rd March, 2023 at 9.30am for a church service which will be held at Bishop Hannington ACK, Nakhasiko church in Samia starting at 10.00am.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday 4th March, 2023, at her Nakhasiko family home in Samia Sub-county, Busia County.
