MARY FRANCISCA OKWACH GONDI

Born: 10 November 1961 – Died: 23 September 2021

It is with great sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mary Francisca Okwach Gondi on 23rd September 2021 after an illness bravely borne.

Loving wife of the late Richard Okwach Gondi. Daughter to Mzee John Owende and Mama Teresia Owende of Nyawara Sub-Location, Central Gem Location, Siaya County. Mother to Mr & Mrs. Edward Gondi, Mr. & Mrs. Ken Owino, Leah Awuor Gondi & Kepher Otieno, Noel Khan and Phoebe Omondi. Daughter in law to the late Mzee Edward Gondi and the late Mama Leah Gondi.

Sister to Thomas and Karen Owende, Prof Rose and Hon Dr James Nyikal, Dr Josephine and Dr Omondi Kumba, Prof Philip and Pamela Owende, Imelda Owende Abuka and the late Maurice Edwin Abuka, Colonel Maurice and Veronicah Owende, Caroline Owende Rapemo and the late Joseph Rapemo Obala, Dr Philomena and Dr Elly Wandayi, Redempta and Dr David Odeny, and Gorerty.

Sister-in-law to: The late Jacktone & the late Christine Achiro, Hesbon & the late Sylvia Olum, the late Dr.A L Gondi & the late Merina, Paul & Alice Gondi, the late Edwin & the late Mary Ngesa, Margaret Oduor, Titus & Pamela Gondi, Sam & Mary-Trizer Gondi, the late Betty Okoyo, Rosemary Olali, Daniel & Penina & Dorry Gondi, Blevins & Elizabeth Gondi and Benter Amina Gondi, Eunice Okello, Elizabeth Gondi, Merab Ochieng’.

Grandmother to: Nicole Hawi, Ivan Gitego, Elani Nisaro, Galina Keza, Maria Francisca and Eddy Manuel. Aunty and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at 5pm at the family home in Nairobi West, Swara Crescent for prayers and burial preparations.

There will be a Harambee at the family home on Tuesday 28th September at 5pm.

A Requiem mass will be held on Wednesday 29th September 2021 at 2pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, South B.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home on Friday 1st October 2021 at 6 am for burial on Saturday 2nd October 2021 at Anyuongi Village, South Sakwa, Bondo Sub- County, Siaya County.
